Xiangdong Ding, Professor

Xiangdong Ding, male, Doctor, was born in 1970. He is Professor and Doctoral Advisor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Besides, he is also Deputy Dean of the university. In 2015, he was selected as Distinguished Professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program supported by the Ministry of Education.
Professor Ding undertakes multi-scale computational simulation and experimental research on the deformation and phase transition behavior of metallic materials. He has presided over 2 phases of the 973 project, and taken charge of the key research and development project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the major international cooperation project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Besides, he has published over 180 papers in such journals of materials and physics as Nature, Science, Nature Materials, Nature Physics, Physical Review Letters, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials and Nano Letters. In addition, he has won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award and one national teaching achievement award.
