Prof. Gang Liu

Prof. Gang Liu, male, born in 1975, is a Ph.D., professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Material Science and Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Deputy Director of State Key Laboratory For Mechanical Behavior Of Materials. Prof. Liu is a recipient of National Outstanding Youth Science Fund Award (2016), a Distinguished Professor of Yangtze River Scholar (2016), the Leading Talent of Ten-Thousands Talents Program of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee (2017) and a Young and Middle-aged Leader in Technological Innovation Talents (2015). He also enjoys the State Council Special Allowance (2018) and holds the Humboldt Research Fellowship (2007).
Prof. Liu is currently engaged in the research on the strengthening and toughing, deformation and fracture of metallic materials strengthening. By far, he has published over 200 SCI papers, his papers cited by SCI for more than 5,000 times. He is a member of the Materials Department of Science & Technology Committee of Ministry of Education (2020-), Vice Chairman of the Materials Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (2020-), Vice Chairman of the Youth Committee of Chinese Materials Research Society (2017-) and a member of its Fatigue Branch (2013-). Prof. Liu also holds the membership of the International Academic Committee of the 15th and 16th Asia-Pacific Conference on Fracture and Strength (APCFS-2018 and APCFS-2020).
